Yoon Jong-kyu, KB Financial Group Chairman, Meets UK Minister to Discuss Net Zero Cooperation Plans

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Yoon Jong-kyu, Chairman of KB Financial Group, discussed mutual cooperation measures in the field of green investment, including renewable energy, with senior officials from the United Kingdom on the 3rd.
According to KB Financial, Chairman Yoon met with Gary Grimstone, UK Minister of State for International Trade and Energy Strategy, and Colin Crooks, British Ambassador to Korea, on the morning of the same day.
Minister Grimstone said at the meeting, "Renewable energy is becoming increasingly important globally to achieve the shared goal of net zero (zero carbon net emissions)," adding, "We hope KB Financial Group actively cooperates with UK companies in the renewable energy investment sector."
In response, Chairman Yoon said, "To overcome the climate change crisis, the role of finance along with the development of related technologies is important," and added, "Since the UK is leading advancements in the renewable energy sector, I expect KB Financial to become a good business partner."
KB Financial is expanding its capital market business in the UK, including signing a strategic business agreement (MOU) for joint investment in syndicated loans with Lloyd Banking Group. Through this meeting, joint investments related to net zero with the UK are expected to further expand.
