June 6 is Meat Meat Day... Lotte Mart Hanwoo 30% Sale
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte Mart is offering up to 50% discounts on various meats, including Korean beef, in celebration of ‘Yukyuk Day’ (June 6) until June 8.
First, all Grade 1 Korean beef products are being sold at a 30% discount by reducing distribution stages through direct Korean beef auctions.
As a representative product, ‘Grade 1 Korean Beef Sirloin (100g, refrigerated)’ is offered to L.POINT members at 7,490 KRW. L.POINT members can also purchase other Grade 1 Korean beef grilling and meat cuts such as tenderloin, striploin, skirt meat, and chuck flap tail at a 30% discounted price.
Lotte Mart’s Korean beef buyer participates weekly in auctions at the livestock markets in Eumseong, Chungbuk, and Bucheon, Gyeonggi, which are Korean beef production areas, personally inspecting and carefully selecting about 800 cattle to purchase high-quality Korean beef. By purchasing directly at the auction, intermediate distribution stages are omitted, allowing the products to be offered at affordable prices. For this year’s event, the buyer increased the proportion of directly purchased stock to 80% by participating in auctions daily throughout May.
A discount event on domestic pork is also underway. During the event period, ‘Domestic Pork Belly and Neck Meat (100g, refrigerated)’ are sold at 2,580 KRW each, and ‘Double-Sided Scored Neck Meat Roast (1kg)’ is offered to L.POINT members at 9,900 KRW, which is 6,000 KRW off the regular price.
Lotte Mart’s pork buyer pre-planned and purchased 50 tons of domestic pork belly and neck meat three months in advance for this Yukyuk Day event, and reduced distribution costs and manufacturing expenses by receiving the products through Lotte’s Fresh Quality Innovation Center, which they operate themselves.
Australian beef is also sold at up to 50% discount prices, and a reusable large shopping bag giveaway event is being held. As a representative product, ‘Grain-Fed Forequarter (100g, refrigerated, Australian)’ which can be used in various dishes such as bulgogi, soup cuts, low-fat steak, and shabu-shabu, is available at a 50% discount price of 1,550 KRW when paid with event cards. Popular steak cuts such as ‘Grain-Fed Chuck Flap Tail and Chuck Eye Roll (100g, refrigerated, Australian)’ are also sold at 2,640 KRW and 1,668 KRW respectively, with a 40% discount when paid with event cards.
Customers who purchase more than 30,000 KRW worth of Australian beef event products will receive a large shopping bag. A discount barcode is attached inside the shopping bag, allowing customers to purchase Australian beef self-cooking packs at a 5% discount throughout 2022 when bringing the bag.
