'Gyeongnam's First Female National Assembly Member' Title Goes to Kim Young-sun of the People Power Party

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Kim Young-seon, the candidate from the People Power Party, won the National Assembly by-election in Uichang-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, defeating Kim Ji-soo of the Democratic Party by 27,809 votes, securing the title of Gyeongnam's first female National Assembly member and achieving her fifth term.
Kim Young-seon, the elected candidate, finished with 68,450 votes, while Kim Ji-soo received 40,641 votes, with a 62.74% to 37.25% split, allowing Kim Young-seon to fill the vacancy left by Park Wan-su, the elected governor of Gyeongnam Province.
Kim, the elected candidate, expressed her ambition, stating, "We will foster advanced industries such as next-generation Korean-style nuclear power plants and urban air mobility, and upgrade key industries to make Changwon new and strong again."

She also promised balanced development of towns and townships, establishment of a railway network between Changwon and Daegu, creation of convergence-type jobs through fostering digital new industries, expansion of educational infrastructure to increase youth inflow, and expansion of the public medical network and establishment of a medical service system.
