Park Wan-su became the frontrunner around 10:30 PM on the 1st, and as of 11:12 PM, with 22.68% of the votes counted, his victory was confirmed.
Park Wan-su, who received a final total of 963,473 votes, won by a landslide margin of 531,904 votes over Yang Moon-seok, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea.
Yeoyoung-guk from the Justice Party received 58,933 votes, and Choi Jin-seok from the Unified Korea Party received 12,353 votes from the electorate.
Park expressed consolation to the candidates who competed in both the primary and general elections, and bowed his head in gratitude for the support and love given to him and the People Power Party.

Park Wan-su stated, “From the beginning, I promised to firmly manage the provincial administration and revive Gyeongnam,” and added, “With a heavy sense of responsibility, I will make Gyeongnam a place where the residents are the true owners.”
