6·1 Local Elections: 63 Candidates in Gwangju and Jeonnam Confirmed Elected Without Contest

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] In the 8th June 1st Nationwide Simultaneous Local Elections, a total of 63 candidates from Gwangju and Jeonnam were elected unopposed.
According to the Central Election Commission on the 1st, 13 candidates in Gwangju and 50 candidates in Jeonnam ran alone and were confirmed elected without voting.
In Gwangju, including Park Byung-gyu, candidate for Gwangsan District Mayor, there were 11 metropolitan council members: Hong Gi-wol (Dong-gu 1), Park Mi-jung (Dong-gu 2), Kang Su-hun (Seo-gu 1), Seo Im-seok (Nam-gu 1), Im Mi-ran (Nam-gu 2), Park Hee-yul (Nam-gu 3), An Pyeong-hwan (Buk-gu 1), Shin Su-jeong (Buk-gu 3), Shim Chang-wook (Buk-gu 5), Park Pil-soon (Gwangsan-gu 3), and Park Su-gi (Gwangsan-gu 5), as well as Lee Ji-ae, who ran as a proportional representative for basic council member in Dong-gu.
In Jeonnam, candidates confirmed elected unopposed include Kim Cheol-woo, candidate for Boseong County Mayor, Myung Hyun-gwan, candidate for Haenam County Mayor, and provincial council members: Choi Seon-guk (Mokpo 1), Park Moon-ok (Mokpo 3), Jeon Gyeong-seon (Mokpo 5), Lee Gwang-il (Yeosu 1), Kang Moon-seong (Yeosu 3), Choi Byung-yong (Yeosu 5), Joo Jong-seop (Yeosu 6), Han Chun-ok (Suncheon 2), Seo Dong-wook (Suncheon 4), Kim Jin-nam (Suncheon 5), Shin Min-ho (Suncheon 6), Kim Jeong-i (Suncheon 8), Choi Myung-soo (Naju 2), Kim Tae-gyun (Gwangyang 3), Park Jong-won (Damyang 1), Jeong Cheol (Jangseong 1), Song Hyung-gon (Goheung 1), Lee Dong-hyun (Boseong 2), Im Ji-rak (Hwasun 1), Ryu Gi-jun (Hwasun 2), Shin Ui-jun (Wando 2), Haenam 1 (Kim Seong-il), Son Nam-il (Yeongam 2), Jeong Gil-su (Muan 1), Na Gwang-guk (Muan 2), and Park Won-jong (Yeonggwang 1).
For basic council members, candidates include Kim Young-jin (Suncheon City District Ja), Park Gye-su (Suncheon City District Ja), Kim Hae-won (Naju City District Ga), Choi Moon-hwan (Naju City District Ga), Han Hyeong-cheol (Naju City District Ga), Park Byung-su (Wando County District Da), and Heo Gung-hoe (Wando County District Da).
