Gangwon-do, Government Joint Inspection of 'Livestock Burial Sites' in Preparation for the Rainy Season
Management Status of Livestock Burial Sites and Overall Conditions in 5 Cities and Counties from June 2 to 10
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province is conducting a safety management inspection of burial sites established due to outbreaks of livestock infectious diseases such as African Swine Fever (ASF) in preparation for the upcoming rainy season.
According to the province on the 31st, this inspection will be carried out jointly by the province, the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs from June 2 to June 10. The inspection targets eight livestock burial sites managed by five cities and counties within the province (Hongcheon 2, Yeongwol 1, Hwacheon 2, Inje 2, Goseong 1).
The inspection items for burial site management by city and county include ▲whether there is a self-management plan and designated person in charge ▲whether an emergency contact network and role-sharing system for staff are established in case of accidents at the burial sites ▲whether livestock burial site status cards, inspection and action logs are prepared and whether inspection details are entered into the system.
For each burial site, the inspection covers ▲whether no-entry signs and fences are installed ▲whether the burial site has been eroded, the condition of drainage maintenance, and whether there are soil cracks ▲whether storage tanks have shifted due to ground pressure, and whether there are leaks or damages.
Minor management issues will be corrected immediately on site, and points requiring supplementation will be addressed by June 17.
