[Featured Stock] LG Chem Rises Over 4% on Establishment of Cathode Material Joint Venture
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jaehee] LG Chem is showing a strong gain of over 4% in the afternoon session on the 31st.
At 1:50 PM on the day, LG Chem was trading at 581,000 KRW, up 4.31% compared to the previous trading day on the Korea Exchange. In the early session, LG Chem showed a rise of over 1% compared to the previous trading day, trading in the 560,000 KRW range before increasing its gains.

On the previous day, the 30th, LG Chem recorded its third consecutive day of gains following news that it had signed a joint venture agreement with B&M, a subsidiary of China’s Huayou Cobalt specializing in cathode materials, at the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido. The joint venture will be established through B&M’s equity investment in LG Chem’s subsidiary, the Gumi cathode materials corporation, which was launched last year as a government-supported win-win job creation initiative.
