[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] SK Telecom's artificial intelligence (AI)-based voice guidance technology will be utilized for self-monitoring tasks of chronic disease patients such as hypertension and diabetes.

On the 31st, SK Telecom announced that it has signed a business agreement with the National Health Insurance Service to introduce the AI-based NUGU Biz Call. NUGU Biz Call is an AI-based voice guidance platform that allows partners to create their own call scenarios.

Through this business agreement, SK Telecom will support call monitoring tasks in the "Primary Care Chronic Disease Management Pilot Project," which involves 109 regions nationwide and 460,000 participants. In the second half of this year, a pilot monitoring program using NUGU Biz Call will be introduced for 10,000 chronic disease patients with hypertension and diabetes.

SK Telecom expects to improve the accuracy and efficiency of chronic disease management. Patients will be able to transmit key self-measured data such as blood pressure and blood sugar levels to the National Health Insurance Service simply by answering questions during the call.

SK Telecom and the National Health Insurance Service plan to continue cooperation to utilize AI calls in other business areas as well.

Yoon Hyun-sang, Head of AI Product at SK Telecom, said, "We will continue to take the lead in building social safety nets using AI."
