Appealing for Support for Verified Top District Mayor Candidate Moon-in
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Moon In, the Democratic Party candidate for Mayor of Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, stated on the 30th, “Based on the development achievements of the past four years during the 7th local government term, built with leadership in communication and cooperation in the June 1st nationwide simultaneous local elections, I ask for your support for the proven Moon In, candidate for Mayor of Buk-gu, who is strong in crisis, for another uninterrupted leap forward in the next four years.”
Candidate Moon proudly said, “Looking back on the past four years of the 7th local government term, there was not a single day wasted,” and emphasized, “This is evidenced by the various achievements made by improving the organizational culture efficiently despite the poor financial conditions.”
Moon cited as evidence, “During the 7th local government term, Buk-gu was the first autonomous district in Gwangju to open the era of a 1 trillion won budget for three consecutive years, and secured about 180 billion won in prize money, the largest ever in various evaluations and contests, reinvesting it in residents’ welfare to overcome the past four years.”
He continued, “Only during the 7th local government term, Buk-gu received the highest number of awards among metropolitan city autonomous districts, including six Presidential Awards and six Prime Minister Awards. These achievements are the result of active cooperation from local National Assembly members and city and district councilors, efforts of about 1,700 Buk-gu public officials, and the support of 430,000 Buk-gu residents,” he added.
Candidate Moon promised, “The dignified choice of the residents is the future of Buk-gu. The 8th local government term will surely create a city where various resident-led policies breathe life into every corner of daily life, and a city where democracy, human rights, peace, culture, and arts are painted throughout the urban area, using the achievements of the past four years as nourishment.”
Furthermore, he said, “The 7th local government term was about ‘filling up,’ and the 8th will be about ‘enjoying.’ I will run vigorously on that path together with 430,000 residents. I once again ask for overwhelming support and encouragement for Moon In, candidate number 1 for Mayor of Buk-gu, Gwangju, who has proven capabilities and leadership to enable Buk-gu to leap forward again.”
