Chorokbaem Media and MediaS Co-produce 'Nadaejima Simjangah'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Chorokbaem Media announced on the 30th that its entertainment and variety channel ‘K-STAR’ will co-produce a new-concept entertainment reality program ‘Nadaejima Simjangah’ together with the comprehensive entertainment channel ‘Channel S’.
‘Nadaejima Simjangah,’ co-produced by K-STAR and Channel S, was selected as the grand prize winner in Channel S’s new variety program contest. It is a ‘national XY dilemma-solving project’ that explores whether pure friendship exists between men and women or if it can develop into love.
Rapper DinDin and Jo Hyunyoung, formerly of the group ‘Rainbow,’ who are representative ‘male friend (namsachin)’ and ‘female friend (yeosachin)’ figures in the entertainment industry, were cast as co-MCs, raising expectations. The production team evaluated the casting background of the two MCs as “the optimal casting to perceive the subtle emotions between male and female friends.”
Chorokbaem Media, together with Media S, the operator of Channel S and a subsidiary of SK Broadband, plans to strengthen their partnership by leveraging their excellent production capabilities, distribution, and marketing know-how through this joint production of ‘Nadaejima Simjangah’ and continuing various collaborations in the future.
A representative of Chorokbaem Media said, “As a comprehensive content media company, Chorokbaem Media is aggressively expanding its content business areas beyond dramas to include variety shows by recently establishing its affiliate ‘Aurora Media’ and acquiring the K-STAR channel. We will strive to produce excellent content in various fields and grow into a leading comprehensive content company representing Korea.”
Meanwhile, since acquiring the channel rights for K-STAR, Chorokbaem Media has been broadening the genre with diverse content such as ‘Goding Umppa,’ which captures the sincere stories of high school moms and dads; ‘Back to the Ground,’ a variety show about legendary baseball stars reversing their retirements; ‘Dowon Chart,’ a ranking music show that has attracted much attention since its first broadcast with the perfect chemistry of ‘Do Kyungwan’ and ‘Lee Chanwon’; and ‘Lansun Beauty,’ a new-concept untact beauty bible featuring actress ‘Park Eunhye,’ show host ‘Lee Soojeong,’ and makeup artist director ‘Sukyung.’
Channel S is also strengthening its production capabilities by presenting various original contents such as ‘Kim Gura’s Latte9,’ a hot issue ranking chart show hosted by the entertainment industry's top talker ‘Kim Gura’; ‘With the Gods Season 3,’ a mystery retro talk show that travels weekly with nostalgic stars; ‘Dasi Galjido,’ a virtual travel program around the world from the comfort of your bed; and ‘Jingyeok-ui Halmae,’ a spicy talk show counseling the worries of grandmothers with a combined 238 years of life experience.
