31 Dead, 7 Injured in Stampede at Nigerian Church Charity Event

According to reports, the stampede occurred at the "Shop for Free" charity event hosted by the Kings Assembly Pentecostal Church. Although the event was scheduled to start at 9 a.m., people began lining up as early as 5 a.m., and the doors opened before the official start, causing the stampede, according to police authorities.
A witness stated that among the casualties were pregnant women and children. Local rescue authorities reported that the injured are currently receiving treatment at hospitals.
