[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS25 announced that its Jintto Baegi Maepssak Galbi Triangle Kimbap sold over 500,000 units within 4 days of its launch, setting a record for the fastest sale of 500,000 units for a single triangle kimbap product.
The Jintto Galbi Triangle Kimbap was introduced as a competition menu by singer Lee Chan-won, who is appearing on the terrestrial entertainment program Shinsang Chulsi Pyeon Restaurant, and was confirmed as the winning menu, which GS25 then commercialized. The product was developed based on Daegu’s famous Dongin-dong spicy steamed galbi fried rice. The spicy galbi seasoned fried rice, flavored with Cheongyang chili peppers, is topped with corn mayo?a combination of popping textured corn and mayonnaise sauce?creating a well-balanced spicy yet savory taste.
Records were also set through online channels such as mobile app pre-orders and live commerce sales. Over 40,000 pre-orders were made within 4 days after the broadcast via the My Fridge app, and on the 20th, during the Naver live commerce event starting at 10 PM right after the broadcast, more than 70,000 concurrent viewers tuned in, and all 10,000 units prepared were sold out within 10 minutes.
