Yeosu Gwangyang Port Corporation and Gwangyang City Launch Initiative to Create Hydrogen City
Signing of a Business Agreement for the Promotion of the 2023 Hydrogen City Development Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, hereinafter YGPA) and Gwangyang City announced on the 25th that they have signed a business agreement to create a hydrogen city.
Through this business agreement, the authority will support the 2023 hydrogen city creation project being prepared by Gwangyang City and cooperate to establish Yeosu Gwangyang Port as a carbon-neutral port in connection with this.
The authority and Gwangyang City plan to promote the hydrogen economy and accelerate the realization of carbon neutrality at Yeosu Gwangyang Port by advancing hydrogen city infrastructure projects such as hydrogen production, supply, and utilization.
To this end, the authority will promote demonstration projects in the mobility sector within the port area and build related infrastructure such as hydrogen charging stations and hydrogen pipelines, while Gwangyang City will establish a comprehensive plan for the hydrogen city creation project and implement detailed plans for each project.
An official from the authority said, “The authority will continuously strive together with Gwangyang City for the successful promotion of the hydrogen city creation project and the realization of carbon neutrality at Yeosu Gwangyang Port.”
