iWinPlus-PixelPlus Collaborate on Development of High-Resolution Image Sensors for Vehicles
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] iWINPLUS (formerly Polaris Works), a company specializing in image sensor packaging, announced on the 26th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for technical cooperation with PixelPlus to develop automotive image sensor supply.
iWINPLUS and PixelPlus have formed a technology cooperation partnership for high-reliability automotive image sensors. They have expanded sensor mass production by signing supply contracts for the 'NeoPAC® Encap package' worth 1.2 billion KRW in September last year and 5.5 billion KRW in January this year.
So far, mass production has been carried out for VGA (688x528) grade sensors, but products using HD and FHD grade image sensors will also be developed additionally. They will continue close cooperation in business expansion and market development.
An iWINPLUS official said, "With the popularization of autonomous driving systems such as Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) sensing cameras and around-view sensing cameras, the number of camera modules required per vehicle is increasing," adding, "We are strengthening mutual cooperation with PixelPlus to develop high-resolution sensors and expand their applications."
He added, "We expect a significant increase in related performance this year through the ‘NeoPAC Encap package,’ which holds unique competitiveness in the automotive image sensor market."
