Ha Tae-kyung: "Park Ji-hyun Reformist? ... Hypocritical and Late When You Look at the Content"
"Lee Jae-myung Should Have Been Prevented from Running... Lee Jae-myung Is Blocking the Democratic Party's Reform"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Woo-seok] On the 26th, Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People Power Party, criticized Park Ji-hyun, the Emergency Committee Chair of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "She often talks as if she is reformist and progressive, but when you look into the content, it is very hypocritical and belated."
On the same day, Ha appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said, "(Chair Park) talks about the retirement of the 586 generation. However, the timing to discuss the retirement of the 586 generation should have been during the nomination for the local elections," adding, "All 586 candidates should have been barred from running for metropolitan mayor and local election positions. But when I counted, more than half of the local election candidates are from the 586 generation. 9 out of 17."
He said, "Candidate Lee Jae-myung should have been blocked as well," and added, "The real obstacle to the Democratic Party's reform is actually candidate Lee Jae-myung. If the investigation into Lee Jae-myung proceeds, he will claim it is political oppression against himself, and the political climate will continue to be one of oppression and confrontation, ending any chance of cooperation. Then the Democratic Party will become a party that only obstructs, and its approval rating will fall further."
He continued, "It is also necessary to drive out those who are worse than the 586 generation. For example, the generation below 586 is worse than the 586 generation," and said, "This means that the Democratic Party needs to reform 70 to 80% of its members. I believe this is what must be done for the Democratic Party to be reborn."
Ha said, "(Chair Park) does not even reflect on the 'complete withdrawal of prosecution' after the election. So, (this reform argument by Chair Park) is a very cunning politician's reflection. It is hard to see it as a sincere reflection from the reform forces, so it is difficult to give a generous score," and added, "Individuals stand out. It is the same story that Song Young-gil said during the presidential election. He talked about the retirement of the 586 generation during the presidential election phase, but then he himself ran for Seoul mayor this time. Except for herself, nothing has actually been achieved in the Democratic Party, and (Chair Park) is showing behavior like a little Song Young-gil of the Democratic Party," repeatedly criticizing her.
He added, "(As a result) it is a reform argument without substance and only for personal spotlight, and the Democratic Party is not responding well, causing the whole situation to become tangled."
