Certified Public Accountant Second Exam Competition Rate Expected at 3.5 to 1... Average Age 27.3
[Asia Economy Reporter Ji Yeon-jin] The Financial Supervisory Service announced on the 25th that 3,828 people have submitted applications for the '2022 57th Certified Public Accountant Second Examination,' which will be held over two days starting next month on the 25th, an increase of 120 from last year.
This represents 87.8% of the total eligible candidates of 4,358, including those who passed the first exam last year and this year, as well as those exempted from the first exam. The competition rate, based on the minimum planned selection number (1,100), is expected to be 3.5 to 1. This year, 1,854 candidates passed the first exam, with 1,555 passing last year, 358 passing both last year and this year, and 61 exempted from the first exam.
Among the second exam candidates, 66.7% are male and 33.3% are female. The proportion of females has increased from 26.7% in 2018.

The average age is 27.3 years old, with those in their late 20s accounting for the highest proportion at 51.9%, followed by early 20s (13.0%) and early 30s (11.2%). More than half, 53.0%, are currently enrolled in university, and 72.4% majored in business-related fields.
