Lee Seongho, head of Lotte Hotel HMR TFT, who is developing Lotte Hotel's meal kit ‘Lotte Hotel 1979,’ said in an interview with Asia Economy on the 26th, “We planned the hotel meal kit with the hope that people can experience high-quality hotel dining at home without visiting the restaurant.”
Lotte Hotel is offering menus that can be tasted at hotel restaurants as convenient meals to consumers. Lee explained, “It is realistically difficult to replicate hotel recipes exactly as meal kits. Because we have to maintain taste and freshness to the maximum while making it easy for anyone to prepare.”
To maintain the quality of hotel dining as it is, Lee conducted numerous tests. When planning the signature lamb rack menu from Lotte Hotel buffet ‘La Seine’ as a meal kit, attention had to be paid to detailed aspects such as the grams of lamb rack, the preparation style of the accompanying garnish, and the delivery method. Focusing on details, consumers also began to respond. As a result, the ‘Herb Lamb Rack’ meal kit released in December last year sold out in three months, which was initially expected to last eight months. Lee emphasized, “Since the meal kit was composed of the highest-grade cut, the ‘French rack,’ it received the most praise for quality,” and added, “The response to the garnishes such as ratatouille and cauliflower provided together, which can be enjoyed without separate preparation, was also very positive.”
While general meal kits focus on preparing one meal conveniently and easily, Lotte Hotel meal kits are prepared so that consumers can even do plating. Lee explained, “The difference from other meal kits is that we include detailed recipes so that you can cook and plate like a chef, providing the joy of cooking.”

Following the lamb rack, Lotte Hotel is currently planning and researching various products to release the next menu. Lee said, “The exact release date is not yet decided,” and emphasized, “Rather than focusing on increasing sales figures or the number of items, we want to provide fresh and high-quality products to customers.” He added, “Achieving a high repurchase rate, high ratings, and high satisfaction is our biggest goal this year.”
