Toyota Lowers Global Car Production by 100,000 Units in June Due to "Uncertainty"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Japan's Toyota Motor Corporation announced on the 24th that it will adjust its global automobile production for next month down by 100,000 units to 850,000 units.
According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun and others, Toyota forecasted that the global production volume in June will be 250,000 units in Japan and 600,000 units overseas, totaling 850,000 units. The full-year forecast remains at 9.7 million units, maintaining the previous outlook.
Toyota stated that due to semiconductor shortages and the spread of COVID-19 infections, uncertainty remains high, and it expects the average global automobile production from June to August to be 850,000 units.
