Dongseo Foods Hosts the 16th 'Scent of Life Dongseo Literary Award'
Call for Dongseo Literary Award Submissions for About 5 Months Until October 4

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] Dongseo Foods announced on the 23rd that it will accept submissions for the 16th "Scent of Life Dongseo Literary Award" until October 4.
The Scent of Life Dongseo Literary Award, now in its 34th year, is the largest literary award for new female writers in Korea. It is held every two years to discover talented female authors. Over the 30 years since the award's inception, approximately 240,000 works have been submitted. At the 15th Dongseo Literary Award, about 18,000 works were submitted, confirming its status as the largest literary award for new female writers in the country.
The 16th Scent of Life Dongseo Literary Award accepts works in four categories with free themes: poetry, novels, essays, and children's literature (fairy tales, children's poetry). Any female Korean citizen can submit works via the Dongseo Literary Award website or by mail.
The winning works will be announced on October 24 on the Dongseo Literary Award website. The total prize money amounts to 79 million KRW, with the grand prize winner receiving 10 million KRW. Additionally, the grand prize and gold prize winners in each category will have the privilege of debuting and having their winning works published in the December issue of the literary magazine "Monthly Literature."
To support applicants' creative activities, Dongseo Foods will hold various events during the submission period. These include a mentoring special lecture featuring creative know-how from writer Kim Hong-shin, chairman of the Dongseo Literary Award steering committee, and mentoring classes covering basics to practical writing skills for each submission category. Other offerings include a one-on-one writing guidance mentoring board via an online bulletin board and a 30-day writing challenge to help develop a consistent writing habit.
