Kim Dong-seop, President of the Korea National Oil Corporation, is inspecting the oil storage facilities and loading/unloading equipment during his visit to the Pyeongtaek Reserve Base on the 20th.

Over the two days, President Kim, along with HSE personnel, inspected the safety status of facilities and equipment within the bases, including aboveground oil storage tanks.
President Kim Dong-seop and others focused on checking the maintenance status of onshore and offshore loading and unloading pipelines, associated electrical facilities, and the operation status of marine pollution prevention equipment.
In particular, they concentrated on inspecting the comprehensive response system prepared for fire and explosion situations in oil storage tanks.
President Kim emphasized the need to pay special attention to fire incidents caused by vapor leaks at oil storage facilities. He also urged meticulous monitoring of the pressure status of oil pipelines and crude oil storage tanks.
He instructed accompanying officials to thoroughly prepare to prevent fire and explosion accidents caused by natural ignition sources such as summer lightning.

Before the on-site safety inspection, during the scheduled employee training session, President Kim Dong-seop stated, “With the enactment of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, public interest in the safety of industrial site workers is higher than ever,” and emphasized, “We must firmly protect lives and property through continuous innovation of the on-site safety management system.”
