Jangseong-gun to Operate 'Hwangryonggang Yellow Flower Market' from 20th to 29th
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 18th that it will operate the ‘Hwangryonggang Yellow Flower Market’ near the ecological park from the 20th to the 29th.
The Hwangryonggang Yellow Flower Market is a unique direct transaction market in Jangseong that connects visitors to Hwangryonggang with the sale of local agricultural products. It was first opened last year and operated twice in May and October.
Despite the festival not being held due to COVID-19, it recorded total sales of 79 million won, drawing attention, and this year it is expected to generate higher sales by operating during the festival period.
A total of 16 companies will participate in this Yellow Flower Market, offering a variety of products such as tomatoes, various fresh vegetables, fruit syrups, cypress products, and hydrangea flowerpots.
From the consumer’s perspective, it is economical as they can purchase high-quality agricultural specialties without any middle distribution process.
Simple foods such as fruit juice and pajeon (Korean savory pancake) will also be provided.
A county official said, “We completed the final preparations through a pilot operation on the 14th and 15th,” adding, “We will operate the direct transaction market solidly so that both producers and consumers are satisfied.”
The county plans to consider extending the market operation if visits to Hwangryonggang continue after the festival period.
