Yogiyo, Instant Grocery Shopping with 'Yomart'... GS Retail Synergy Accelerates
Nationwide Instant Grocery Delivery Service Launched
GS The Fresh and Partner Companies Create Quick Commerce Synergy Across National Hubs
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Yogiyo announced on the 17th that it will launch a new nationwide instant grocery shopping service called 'Yomart,' which allows fast delivery of groceries and daily necessities, in partnership with GS Retail.
Yomart is a quick commerce (instant delivery) service created by combining Yogiyo's delivery platform operation know-how with GS Retail's nationwide large-scale distribution network synergy. This collaboration is the first since the CDPI consortium acquired Yogiyo at the end of last year, aiming to expand the nationwide instant grocery shopping service and secure leadership in quick commerce.
The current instant grocery shopping services have limited delivery areas due to initial logistics hub investment constraints. However, Yomart can provide service through GS The Fresh, GS Retail's supermarket chain nationwide, enabling rapid establishment of a nationwide delivery network without building separate logistics centers.
Yomart offers supermarket grocery shopping with delivery within one hour, just like ordering food through the Yogiyo app. The biggest strength lies in Yogiyo's convenient ordering and payment system combined with GS Retail's wide range of product categories. The number of items handled by Yomart is about 10,000, including fresh food, home meal replacements (HMR), ready-to-eat meals, and miscellaneous goods owned by GS Retail, allowing households from singles to large families to easily purchase necessary food and daily necessities all at once. Instant grocery shopping is also available through 'Yogipass,' Yogiyo's exclusive membership discount subscription service.
The first Yomart stores will be launched in Nowon-gu, Seoul, and Cheonan-si, Chungnam. After pilot operations at these two stores with high grocery demand, the service area will be expanded to more than 300 stores across 17 cities and provinces nationwide, including Seoul and Gyeonggi in the metropolitan area, within the first half of the year.
