Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center Hosts the 7th Firefly Ecological Experience Learning Event
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Busan Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center will hold the "7th Firefly Ecological Experience Learning Event" for five days from June 10 to 14 at the Jangansa area.
Since 2011, the Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center has been promoting the image of clean, unpolluted Gijang by providing an experiential venue to observe and learn about the life cycle of fireflies, a representative environmental indicator insect, and by publicizing the habitat of fireflies.
Since 2010, through exploration of firefly habitats within Gijang, it has been confirmed that the "Unmunsan Firefly," known for its brightest and most beautiful light, as well as the "Late Firefly," appear in many areas of Gijang.
This event will operate various experiential programs such as firefly experience booths and photo zones. In particular, a themed performance by the "Gukdan Gamagol Theater Team," located in Ilgwang-eup, is prepared along the Jangansa Valley trail, offering tension and emotion like watching a musical while exploring fireflies.
The firefly ecological experience learning event will be held four times a day (50 people per session) from June 10 to 14, starting at 8:00 PM with 30-minute intervals (20:00, 20:30, 21:00, 21:30). Participants can make reservations on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 16th through the course application on the Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center website.

A representative of the Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center said, "We hope everyone enjoys unforgettable memories and healing energy on early summer nights with Gijang fireflies," adding, "As firefly habitats are gradually decreasing nationwide due to environmental pollution, we will strive to preserve the ecological environment so that future generations can continue to see fireflies without change."
