The Wonmi Police Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 16th that they have detained and are investigating Mr. A, a man in his 60s, on charges of assault and special assault for attacking his wife and firing a gas gun at his daughter.
Mr. A is accused of assaulting his wife, Mrs. B, in her 50s, by pushing and hitting her during an argument at their home in Sang-dong, Bucheon City on the afternoon of the 15th, and firing a gas gun at their daughter, Ms. C, in her 20s, who tried to stop the fight. It is reported that Mrs. B was not injured, and Ms. C was also unharmed as she did not directly get hit by the gas.
The police responded to a report from Mrs. B and Ms. C and arrested Mr. A at the scene as a suspect caught in the act.
They also confiscated the gas gun used in the incident. The gas gun was found to have been legally owned by Mr. A for self-defense and kept at his home.
