GS Retail and Wiju Sign Business Agreement... "Revitalizing Traditional Markets Linked to On-Foot Delivery"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS Retail announced on the 16th that it has signed a business agreement with ‘Wiju,’ which operates the mobile shopping platform for traditional markets ‘Nolleowayo Sijang (Noljang),’ to revitalize traditional markets.
Through this business agreement, the two companies plan to strategically collaborate on ▲advancing online order and delivery services to revitalize traditional markets ▲strengthening last-mile delivery competitiveness linked with eco-friendly walking delivery ▲expanding ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
GS Retail plans to quickly complete the system integration between its eco-friendly walking delivery platform Uchin-Baedalhagi and Wiju’s traditional market mobile shopping platform Noljang. Through this, when consumers order traditional market products via Noljang, delivery information will be transmitted to Uchin-Baedalhagi, and walking couriers will pick up and deliver the products immediately.
The walking courier delivery service for traditional market products is scheduled to be launched within the first half of this year. The two companies will start the walking delivery service focusing on major traditional markets and gradually expand the service nationwide to traditional markets.
GS Retail expects that this service, which enables more than 80,000 walking couriers within Uchin-Baedalhagi to deliver traditional market products immediately, will enhance convenience for consumers purchasing traditional market products and significantly increase new users.
