Daejeon City Recruiting Volunteers for UCLG General Assembly
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City will publicly recruit volunteers for the World Organization of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) General Assembly to be held in Daejeon this October.
According to the city on the 16th, UCLG is a non-governmental organization that pursues mutual cooperation and shared prosperity among local governments worldwide. The Daejeon General Assembly will take place from October 10 to 14 at the Daejeon Convention Center. Approximately 5,000 participants from 140 countries around the world are expected to attend the assembly.
The city plans to recruit 50 volunteers ahead of the assembly. Volunteers will assist with official events of the assembly, and detailed job activities and the number of personnel per role will be assigned after selection.
Anyone aged 19 or older residing in Daejeon (born on or before December 31, 2003) who can attend all five days of the assembly schedule is eligible to participate as a volunteer.
Citizens wishing to participate as volunteers can apply from the 23rd of this month to the 3rd of next month via Naver Office, email, visit, or mail.
Final successful candidates will be determined through a two-stage screening process: first document review, then interview. Preference will be given to those with foreign language (English) skills and experience in international conferences (events).
After selection, the final candidates will receive basic training and on-site job training, and during the assembly schedule, they will be assigned to event sites around the Daejeon Convention Center to support official events such as the assembly.
