New COVID-19 Cases Reach 20,000s for the First Time in 15 Weeks... Since January 30

The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 15th at midnight that there were 25,434 new confirmed cases, bringing the total to 17,782,061.
It is the first time in 15 weeks since January 30 (17,522 cases) that the number of new confirmed cases on a Sunday (announcement day) was below 30,000.
The number of new confirmed cases decreased by 4,147 from the previous day (29,581 cases). Compared to one week ago on the 8th (40,048 cases), it decreased by 14,614, and compared to two weeks ago on May 1 (37,760 cases), it decreased by 12,326.
The daily number of confirmed cases has remained below 50,000 for 12 consecutive days since the 4th.
The daily new confirmed cases for the week starting from the 9th were 20,589 → 49,923 → 43,916 → 35,906 → 32,451 → 29,581 → 25,434, with a daily average of 33,970.
The number of critically ill patients counted on this day was 338, down by 3 from the previous day (341). The number of critically ill patients has remained in the 300s for six consecutive days since the 10th (398).
