[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulju-gun, Ulsan, is hosting ‘Ulju The Dream Campus’ for local middle school students to nurture convergence-type talents who will lead the future era.

‘Ulju The Dream Campus’ is one of the projects under ‘This Year Ulju Future Education i4.0 Campus,’ which Ulju-gun is promoting in collaboration with Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST).

This project is linked with student clubs at UNIST and offers various programs for local middle school students in fields such as chemistry, life sciences, physics, as well as DJing, cooking, band, and sports.

The detailed programs include the Eureka Chemistry Classroom, experiments and related concepts in life sciences, performance using Launchpad, preparation of various beverages, soccer skills, and team games.

Classes start on the 14th and will be held every second Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the UNIST campus until December this year.

Ulju-gun and UNIST have invested a total of 600 million KRW in eight projects, including the operation of ‘Ulju Future Education i4.0 Campus’ for local middle and high school students, Ulju I4.0 mentoring, STEM career experiences, and science mentoring, which will be implemented until December this year.

Hong Kyung-sook, Director of Talent Education at Ulju-gun, said, “This project will provide various educational contents and serve as a platform for career exploration through communication between UNIST students and local students,” adding, “We hope all children grow up as happy residents through diverse programs and educational content developed for students.”
