"Putin's Goal: Full Occupation of Ukraine"… Ukraine Reveals Internal Russian Military Documents
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Yeeun] Ukrainian investigative authorities claimed that an internal Russian military document was discovered, showing that Russia's war objective was the "complete occupation of mainland Ukraine."
Oleksii Sukachev, head of the Ukrainian National Investigation Bureau, stated on his Telegram channel on the 12th (local time) that "during the search of the village Trostianets in Sumy Oblast, northeastern Ukraine, which was occupied by Russian forces, we secured a Russian military document containing such content."
Trostianets, adjacent to the Russian border, was occupied by Russian forces for about a month before they withdrew at the end of March.
Sukachev said, "We discovered an important Russian military document that clearly shows Russia was preparing to occupy all Ukrainian territory," adding, "We will review all this information."
However, he did not specify what exact information was contained in the document.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24 that he was launching a so-called "special military operation" under the pretexts of "demilitarization" and "denazification" of Ukraine, invading the country but stating there was no plan for full occupation.
However, William Burns, Director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), testified at a House hearing in early March, claiming, "President Putin's original plan was to capture Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, within two days, overthrow the Volodymyr Zelensky administration, and establish a pro-Russian government."
Meanwhile, contrary to President Putin's expectations, Russian forces abandoned the plan to occupy Kyiv in early April and withdrew their troops, currently concentrating firepower in eastern and southern Ukraine.
