Raid and Arrest at Hidden Hideout
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A youth violence circle that gathered in officetels and committed various crimes has been caught by the police.
The Guro Police Station in Seoul announced on the 13th that they arrested five people, including out-of-school youths A and B (both 18), on charges such as special robbery.
According to the police, these peers are suspected of continuously committing crimes while staying in an officetel instead of going to a protective facility during their probation period since February.
They have been together since 2019 and committed 17 crimes including assault, threats, and extortion, with the number of victimized students reaching 12, according to the investigation.
Based on witness statements, the police identified the officetel where they were hiding, obtained arrest warrants and emergency accompaniment warrants, and apprehended them on April 14.
