Nature Republic, Product Renewal Based on European Cosmetics Regulations
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Nature Republic announced on the 13th that it has re-released its flagship product line, ‘Super Aqua Max,’ by excluding the ‘lilial’ ingredient as a proactive measure in accordance with European cosmetics regulations.
According to recent European cosmetics regulations, the fragrance ingredient ‘butylphenyl methylpropional’ has been banned from use in personal care products within Europe as of March. This ingredient, also known as lilial due to its lily scent, is used not only in cosmetics but also in diffusers, detergents, and various other products. However, it is listed as an allergenic substance by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and must be declared in the full ingredient list when used as a combined fragrance.

Nature Republic is renewing its products by excluding this ingredient as a proactive response to European cosmetics regulations, starting with the Super Aqua Max line and plans to gradually extend this to other products. The company also intends to exclude this ingredient in new products going forward.
