Declaration of Uninterrupted Haenam Development: "Shine, Land's End! Haenam Runs Again"
[Haenam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Hyun] Myeong Hyun-gwan, the governor of Jeollanam-do Haenam County (59, Democratic Party), held a press conference at the county office yesterday (12th) and declared his bid for re-election in the June 1 local elections.
Governor Myeong declared, "I will create a Haenam that prospers through bold challenges, change, and stability," and announced his candidacy registration. He added, "Over the past four years, I have regarded promises to the residents as the heaviest and most precious responsibility and have led definite and pleasant changes in Haenam," evaluating his term.
In particular, Haenam County demonstrated sustainable development potential by achieving a consecutive 2nd grade in comprehensive integrity during the 7th local government term, receiving the highest grade in pledge fulfillment evaluation, spreading the nationwide farmers' allowance, and attracting the National Agricultural and Food Climate Change Response Center, among other achievements.
Based on the achievements of the 7th local government term, Governor Myeong promised, "We will focus all our capabilities on eliminating economic, cultural, and social disparities so that discrimination and alienation disappear anywhere in Haenam," and "I will definitely achieve stability and prosperity in Haenam together with the residents."
For the development of Haenam in the 8th local government term, he presented key strategies including ▲ a fairer Haenam through Haenam-style ESG ethical management ▲ a young Haenam with future generations ▲ sustainable agriculture and rural areas where farmers are respected ▲ enhancing the brand value of Ttangkkeut Haenam, expanding transportation networks, and revitalizing tourism ▲ mutually supportive economic vitality ▲ fostering a hub for climate change response in Korea ▲ continuously expanding opportunities to enjoy culture and sports close to daily life.
Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan concluded by pledging, "I will live solely for our Haenam residents, closest to the people," and requested, "I ask the deputy governor acting as the authority and senior public officials to do their best to prevent any inconvenience to residents due to the administrative gap caused by the candidate registration."
