Candidate Oh Se-hoon Registered... Vice Mayor Jo In-dong to Act as Deputy Until Next Month 1
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that Jo In-dong, the First Deputy Mayor for Administration, will act on behalf of Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who registered as a candidate for the Seoul mayoral election in the nationwide local elections on the 12th.
According to the Local Autonomy Act, when the head of a local government registers as a candidate for the head of that local government, the deputy head shall act on behalf of the head from the day of registration until the election day. Candidate Oh completed his registration at the Seoul Election Commission on the morning of the same day.
As acting mayor, Deputy Mayor Jo will handle affairs under the authority of the Seoul Mayor according to laws and ordinances, starting with presiding over the regular executive meeting of offices, headquarters, and bureau chiefs on the day, until the local election day on the 1st of next month.
