Ulleung County, Ulleung County Sports Council, and Royal Game Fishing Federation officials are releasing about 40,000 juvenile rockfish.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulleung-gun and the Ulleung-gun Sports Council, ahead of the Ulleung-gun Bengeodum Tournament National Fishing Competition, released about 40,000 juvenile rockfish (Juinoraemi) into the Cheonburi village fishing grounds on the 10th in cooperation with the Royal Gyeonggi Fishing Federation under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
The released juvenile rockfish were produced by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Fisheries Resources Research Institute, underwent disease inspection, and were carefully selected as healthy seeds.
The upcoming competition will be held over three days from June 17 to June 19, with 128 participants. It will be conducted in a one-on-one tournament format targeting rockfish (Bengeodum) measuring 25 cm or more. The Royal Gyeonggi Fishing Federation Secretariat is currently accepting participant registrations.
Kim Gyu-yul, Acting Governor of Ulleung-gun, stated, “We will actively strive to develop fishery resources and promote tourism so that athletes and tourists visiting Ulleungdo can fully enjoy the beautiful natural scenery.”
