Sunchon National University Social Service Group Continues "Sseujup" Plogging Activity This Year
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) Social Service Group announced on the 11th that starting from April 29, they will conduct 'plogging activities' to pick up trash around the Suncheon National University campus, Dongcheon, and Bonghwasan area every Saturday and Sunday for a total of 10 sessions throughout May.
The 'Suncheon National University Social Service Group,' composed of university members, is leading the establishment of a plogging culture by continuing this year with the slogan 'Keep Picking Up Trash' following last year's plogging campaign 'Just Pick Up Trash.'
They gather up to 50 participants per session through online promotion targeting Suncheon National University students to carry out trash collection activities and environmental protection campaigns. On the 30th, they plan to conclude the first half plogging program by setting up a promotional booth at the circular plaza in front of the university campus main gate to distribute biodegradable bags and hold an environmental protection exhibition.
A representative of the Social Service Group stated that by leading volunteer activities, the Suncheon National University Social Service Group aims to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of environmental cleanup and help enhance the positive image of Suncheon National University, planning to continue plogging events in the second half of the year as well.
