Gyeonggi Province Governor Candidate Support... People Power's Kim Eun-hye vs Democratic's Kim Dong-yeon 'Close Race'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] In the June 1 local election poll for Gyeonggi Province governor candidates, a clear three-way race is underway, with the People Power Party and the Democratic Party candidates in a close contest.
According to a poll conducted by Gyeonggi Ilbo through the polling agency Jowon C&I on June 8-9, surveying 801 men and women aged 18 and over residing in Gyeonggi Province (95% confidence level with a margin of error ±3.5%p), in the 'Gyeonggi Province governor candidate support rate,' Democratic Party candidate Kim Dong-yeon received 44.8%, and People Power Party candidate Kim Eun-hye received 39.2%, with a gap of 5.6%p between the two candidates.
Following them were independent candidate Kang Yong-seok with 5.4%, Progressive Party candidate Song Young-joo with 1.6%, Basic Income Party candidate Seo Tae-sung with 1.4%, other candidates 0.6%, none 4.4%, and don't know 2.6%.
Candidate Kim Dong-yeon received 43.5% support from men and 46.2% from women, while candidate Kim Eun-hye received 43.2% support from men and 35.2% from women.
By age group, Kim Dong-yeon recorded 41.8% support in their 30s, 61.9% in their 40s, and 56.6% in their 50s. Kim Eun-hye received 39.7% support from those aged 18-29 and 55.7% from those aged 60 and above.
Earlier, according to a poll conducted by Joongbu Ilbo through the polling agency Daily Research on June 5-6, surveying 1,000 men and women aged 18 and over residing in Gyeonggi Province (95% confidence level with a margin of error ±3.1%p), People Power Party candidate Kim Eun-hye recorded 44.8%, and Democratic Party candidate Kim Dong-yeon recorded 41.0% support. The gap between the two candidates was 3.8%p. Independent candidate Kang Yong-seok received 10.1%.
Following were 'other candidates' at 0.2%, 'no preferred candidate' at 2.8%, and 'don't know' at 1.2%. The undecided voter rate was 4.0%.
By gender, candidate Kim Eun-hye recorded 47.2% support from men and 42.4% from women, while candidate Kim Dong-yeon recorded 41.0% from men and 40.9% from women.
By age group, Kim Dong-yeon showed strength among youth aged 18-29 with 46.6% and those in their 40s with 49.8%, while Kim Eun-hye showed strength in their 30s with 42.5%, 50s with 46.1%, and 60 and above with 62.1%.
