Yeongsangang Regional Environmental Office Announces Results of First Half Year Workplace Inspections for Daily Life-Related Businesses
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office announced on the 10th that it detected a total of 18 violating business sites as a result of conducting the "First Half of the Year Special Inspection of Life-Closely Related Business Sites" from March to April.
The Yeongsangang Office focused its inspection on dust-generating business sites near urban areas, which are located outside industrial complexes and relatively lack management, causing inconvenience to residents due to dust. The inspection checked whether dust suppression facilities were properly installed, whether dust suppression measures were implemented, and whether air emission facilities and prevention facilities were properly operated.
As a result of the inspection, out of a total of 30 reported dust-generating businesses, 18 sites (25 cases) were found to be in violation. The main violations included 2 cases of failure to conduct self-measurement of air pollutants and 8 cases of inadequate dust suppression facilities and measures.
Among the detected violations, cases of failure to conduct self-measurement will be referred to the competent prosecution office after an internal investigation by the Yeongsangang Office, and cases of failure to implement dust suppression facilities and measures will be reported to the relevant local governments for immediate action.
