[President Yoon's Inauguration] First Task at Midnight in Underground Bunker... Visiting Yongsan, Seocho, and Yeouido
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] President Yoon Suk-yeol spends a hectic day on the 10th, his inauguration day, shuttling multiple times between the Yongsan Presidential Office, his residence in Seocho-dong, and the National Assembly.
At midnight on the day, President Yoon began his first official duty by receiving a joint chiefs of staff briefing at the National Crisis Management Center inside the Yongsan Presidential Office building, following the transfer of military command authority.
After the joint chiefs briefing, President Yoon returned home to his residence in Seocho-gu to rest, then appeared at a congratulatory event organized by local residents at 9:52 a.m.
President Yoon and his wife, First Lady Kim Keon-hee, were both dressed in black suits and did not wear masks. After the residents' congratulatory event, around 10:04 a.m., President Yoon and the First Lady visited the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery in Dongjak-gu to pay their respects.
After the memorial visit, he wrote in the guestbook, "Honoring the sacrifice and dedication of the patriotic martyrs, we will make the Republic of Korea leap forward again and build a nation where all citizens prosper together."
Next, President Yoon arrived at the National Assembly around 10:55 a.m. to attend the main ceremony of the 20th presidential inauguration.
After the inauguration ceremony concludes, President Yoon will see off former President Moon Jae-in and his wife, greet the attendees, and then head to the Yongsan office. Following the approximately one-hour ceremony, around 12:25 p.m., he will attend a welcoming event hosted by residents of Yongsan-gu, where the office is located, and begin official duties at the office from 12:45 p.m.
Starting at 1:30 p.m., President Yoon will make his official debut on the diplomatic stage at the Yongsan office. He will meet consecutively with representatives from the United States, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), then return to the National Assembly for a celebratory banquet.
The celebratory banquet held in the Rotunda Hall of the National Assembly is expected to be attended by key figures including National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seug, Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum, Supreme Court Chief Justice Kim Myung-soo, Constitutional Court Chief Justice Yoo Nam-seok, and other top officials and leaders from both ruling and opposition parties. After the banquet, President Yoon will return to the Yongsan Presidential Office to continue meetings with delegations from China and Singapore.

President Yoon will conclude his first day of official duties with a dinner hosted for foreign dignitaries at the Shilla Hotel's State Guest House. The dinner will also be attended by foreign delegations, heads of the five major conglomerates, and leaders of economic organizations.
