The Corruption Investigation Office appoints former Constitutional Court Justice Ahn Chang-ho as 2nd Advisory Committee Chairperson
Former Seoul High Prosecutor General and Prosecutor... Officially Appointed at This Year's First Advisory Committee on the 13th
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Kyung-joon] Ahn Chang-ho, former Constitutional Court Justice (age 65, Judicial Research and Training Institute class 14), has been appointed as the second chairman of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Department (HCID) 'Advisory Committee' to listen to and reflect professional and diverse opinions from various experts.
On the 10th, HCID announced that Director Kim Jin-wook appointed former Justice Ahn as the chairman of the Advisory Committee, a position currently vacant. Director Kim plans to officially appoint former Justice Ahn as the advisory chairman ahead of the first Advisory Committee meeting of the year on the 13th.
Appointed advisory chairman Ahn, a former prosecutor, served as head of the Criminal Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office and as Seoul High Prosecutors' Office chief before becoming a Constitutional Court Justice. He is currently serving as an advisory lawyer at the law firm Hwawoo.
HCID operates the Advisory Committee, composed of experts from the legal community, academia, and media, to incorporate diverse external opinions into its operations. The Advisory Committee, consisting of 14 members including the chairman, held three meetings last year. The chairman position has been vacant since former Constitutional Court Chief Justice Lee Jin-sung resigned in November last year.

At the first meeting of the year, HCID plans to hear the advisory members' opinions on key agenda items, including the 'HCID Communication Data Inquiry Inspection Guidelines' implemented since last month and the investigation results of major recent cases.
