Damyang-gun Achieves Success in Multicultural Families Online Election Story Contest Awards
Excellence Award: Truong Thi Kim Huong, Encouragement Award: Moon Min, Joo Eun-mi, Honorable Mention: Kim Mina Awarded
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Married immigrant women using the Damyang-gun Family Center achieved success by winning awards in the ‘Multicultural Family Online Election Story’ contest held by the Jeollanam-do Election Commission.
The contest was held on the 10th to commemorate the 11th Voter's Day.
The ‘Multicultural Family Online Election Story’ was conducted in a format where married immigrants submitted manuscripts and approximately 5-minute videos presenting their experiences participating as democratic citizens in elections and political culture in both their home countries and Korea, which were then judged.
At the Damyang-gun Family Center, seven people participated, with Ms. Truong Thi Kim Huong winning the Excellence Award, Mr. Moon Min and Ms. Joo Eunmi receiving Encouragement Awards, and Ms. Kim Mina receiving an Honorable Mention, each receiving a prize money.
Ms. Truong Thi Kim Huong said, “I am happy and grateful to receive the Excellence Award,” and added, “I will sincerely participate in voting as a voter and study Korean diligently to do my best as a democratic citizen.”
