Democratic Party Candidate for Damyang County Governor Lee Byung-no: "I Will Surely Achieve a 'New Damyang' by Upholding the Aspirations and Support of 50,000 Residents and Party Members"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Lee Byeongno, former Director of the Damyang County Autonomous Innovation Bureau, has been officially confirmed as the Democratic Party candidate for Damyang County Governor.
According to the Democratic Party Jeonnam Provincial Party on the 7th, Lee Byeongno was selected as the final candidate in the Damyang County Governor primary held over two days from the 5th to the 6th.
The results were announced on the Democratic Party website under the supervision of observers from the Democratic Party Jeonnam Provincial Party.
Candidate Lee Byeongno said, "I sincerely thank the residents and party members who believed in and supported me until the end," and added, "I will repay your support by winning the Damyang County Governor election."
He continued, "I also extend my deep condolences to candidate Choi Hwasam, who participated in the primary until the end," and conveyed a message of unity, saying, "In preparing for the upcoming general election, I will actively incorporate candidate Choi’s good pledges and consider the hearts of the voters who supported him."
Confirmed as the candidate for the 8th term of the Damyang County Governor, Lee Byeongno emphasized, "I will create a sustainable and developing representative ecological garden cultural city of Korea that guarantees the happiness of 50,000 Damyang residents."
He also stated, "I will prepare a policy election that supplements the pledges promised to the residents during the primary process more deeply and reflects even the smallest wishes."
In particular, he promised, "I will design a ‘New Millennium Damyang’ through resident-first policies and resident-centered administration where no more unfair practices, privileges, or special favors are tolerated."
Meanwhile, former Director Lee has been recognized as an outstanding administrative expert by planning and promoting policies closely related to residents’ lives, such as Meta Provence, general industrial complexes, and advanced cultural complex districts, during his over 40 years of public service.
After retiring in June 2019, he established the Damyang New Vision Research Institute to analyze current issues in Damyang and research countermeasures, preparing for a new future for Damyang.
Born in Jukrim Village, Bonghwang-ri, Geumseong-myeon, Lee Byeongno began his public service career in 1980 and served as Geumseong-myeon Chief of Damyang County, Director of Agricultural Food Distribution, Head of Autonomous Administration, Head of Investment Attraction Team, Director of Resident Welfare, and the first Director of the Damyang County Autonomous Innovation Bureau.
