View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] E-Land Retail announced on the 5th that it has signed a business agreement with the Trade-related Intellectual Property Protection Association (TIPA) to cooperate in introducing a digital technology-based luxury authentication system.
Through this agreement, E-Land Retail will be the first to receive the digital inspection certificates developed by TIPA and the physical authentication system currently under development.
The digital inspection certificate is a service that issues consumers a certificate containing tamper-proof digital information such as basic details and inspection dates of luxury products inspected by TIPA, both in physical form and through the ‘TIPA Wallet’ application (app). An instruction booklet with a QR code that allows verification of basic inspection information is also provided. When ownership of the product changes through resale, return and transfer are possible, increasing its usability.
Additionally, the physical authentication system being developed alongside the digital certificate allows consumers to take photos of specific parts of the product and upload them to the app, where TIPA verifies whether it is the same product inspected and provides related inspection information.
These services developed by TIPA are based on blockchain technology, enabling preemptive prevention of tampering. Furthermore, inspection results can be checked in real time, which is expected to greatly help establish a trustworthy luxury distribution structure for consumers.
