20s Couple Lost Contact After Leaving Newborn at Postpartum Care Center

According to the Gwangju Police Agency on the 3rd, a report was received that the parents who left their newborn at a postpartum care center in Seo-gu the previous morning have been unreachable for three days.
It is reported that the couple did this after a dispute over childcare issues.
The police plan to review whether charges of abandonment or neglect can be applied through further investigation of the couple.
In addition, together with local government child protection officers, they are comprehensively assessing the couple’s willingness to raise the child, economic situation, and home environment, and are considering sending the newborn to a temporary infant care facility.
