False Bomb Threat at Yongsan International School Causes Evacuation of Over 1,000 People
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] A report of a bomb threat at Seoul Yongsan International School located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, led to a commotion as students and staff evacuated the premises.
According to the Yongsan Police Station on the 2nd, a call reporting "a bomb has been planted at the school" was received at around 10:46 a.m. that day.
The police, along with the military and fire authorities, searched the school inside and out for about two hours but found no explosives.
The person who made the bomb threat call was reported to be a male speaking English.
The report caused about 1,140 students and staff inside the building to temporarily evacuate to the playground.
