The Department of Cartoon Animation has been selected for the 'Two-wins Mentoring Program,' which is in partnership with the Daegu Webtoon Smart Content Talent Development Project Group, with three teams in the webtoon field and one team in the animation field chosen.
The selected teams will participate in webtoon and animation mentoring for three months starting next month, involving industry experts such as PDs from Lezhin Comics and Daum Webtoon writers.
Additionally, students from this department will participate in producing digital content for the promotion of local governments and companies.
Gunwi County in Gyeongbuk Province is producing promotional videos, webtoons, animations, metaverse content, etc., as part of the Smart Creator industry-academia-research project, and is also creating promotional webtoons and animations for the Daegu-type delivery app 'Daeguro.'
The production of promotional content for 'Daeguro' will be conducted through project-based learning. It is expected to enhance creativity, communication skills, critical thinking, and cooperation abilities required as creators.
Students participating in the projects will receive scholarships and activity expenses, allowing them to focus solely on creation without worrying about tuition fees.
The Two-wins Mentoring Program supports a total of 12 million KRW, including 3 million KRW per team as activity expenses. The Gunwi County promotional content production team will also receive 6 million KRW in production support funds.
