Pelosi, Speaker of the US House, Visits Kyiv to "Support the Fight for Freedom"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, led a delegation to visit Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, on the 30th of last month (local time) and held talks with Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, according to major foreign media reports.
Speaker Pelosi is the highest-ranking U.S. official to visit Ukraine since Russia's invasion. The U.S. and Ukrainian authorities reported that she expressed continued support for Ukraine to President Zelensky.
The Office of the President of Ukraine posted a video on Twitter showing Speaker Pelosi's visit to Kyiv. In the video, Speaker Pelosi said, "I came here to express gratitude to Ukraine, which is fighting for freedom," adding, "Ukraine's fight is for all of us, and we promise to stand together until the war ends."
President Zelensky said, "We are grateful for the bipartisan support from the U.S. government, people, and Congress," and added, "The United States is leading strong support for Ukraine in the war caused by Russia's invasion."
