[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine, which relocated due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, is returning to the capital Kyiv and resuming its operations.
On the 1st, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Ambassador Kim Hyungtae and some staff members, who had been working at the temporary office in Chernivtsi since March, have returned to Kyiv.
They added, "We plan to carry out the protection of overseas nationals and diplomatic duties in closer cooperation with the Ukrainian government on site in Kyiv."
Officials at the Korean Embassy in Ukraine are preparing to resume operations starting from the 2nd.
Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that other staff members remaining at the temporary offices in Chernivtsi and Romania are considering a phased return depending on the local situation.
Earlier, more than 20 embassies from countries including the European Union (EU), France, Italy, and the Netherlands, which also relocated their offices to avoid the war situation like Korea, have recently been returning to Kyiv one after another.

The United States announced its embassy return plan on the 24th of last month through Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The United Kingdom and Romania are also preparing to return their embassies to Kyiv.
