Gyeonggi-do to Improve Environment of 89 Social Welfare Facilities with 2.4 Billion Won Investment
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is promoting an environmental improvement project this year targeting 89 social welfare facilities in the province, including repairs of aging facilities and waterproofing and leak prevention.
The province conducted a demand survey of social welfare facilities in the province from January to March, excluding projects unrelated to safety such as simple purchase of goods or exterior improvements, and selected 89 facilities that did not receive support last year.
The total support budget for this year is 2.4 billion KRW, covering replacement of old heating and cooling systems, elevator reinforcement work, rooftop waterproofing and leak prevention work, replacement of old piping, replacement of fire safety facilities, sprinkler replacement, and asbestos removal.
The province will provide up to 40 million KRW to each facility.
Major projects this year include kitchen, tile, and waterproofing work at the Jeongja-dong Daycare Center for the Disabled in Suwon, ceiling asbestos removal at the Sangnok-gu Senior Welfare Center in Ansan, and installation of automated external defibrillators at the Happy Job Disabled Protection Workshop in Anyang.
Yoon Young-mi, Director of the Welfare Policy Division of the province, emphasized, "We will do our best to support the environmental improvement projects of social welfare facilities so that residents can use the facilities safely and conveniently."
