[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has revealed the identities of 10 suspects involved in the massacre of civilians in Bucha, a small town on the outskirts of the capital Kyiv.
On the 28th (local time), the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense posted on Twitter, "The identities of 10 perpetrators from the Russian 64th Mechanized Brigade responsible for the Bucha massacre have been confirmed," and disclosed their names and faces.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense named them the "despicable 10" and emphasized, "Despite committing atrocities, they were rewarded and returned to the battlefield, but they will not be able to escape punishment for war crimes."
The 10 individuals revealed that day are Vyacheslav Lavrentyev (29), Grigory Narishkinto (30), Vasily Prins (24), Semen Malchev (26), Sergey Peskarev (24), Albert Radnayev (24), Mikhail Kashinu (24), Andriy Vizhiyev (33), Dmitry Serzhenka (27), and Nikita Akimov (25).
According to AFP, Iryna Venediktova, Prosecutor General of Ukraine, stated, "Ten soldiers from the Russian 64th Mechanized Brigade are under investigation for war crimes. The suspects will be wanted and will face justice."
The prosecution alleges that the suspects occupied Bucha in March, deliberately harmed civilians, and committed planned murders.
Prosecutor General Venediktova said, "They took civilians who were not engaged in hostile acts and unarmed as hostages, forced them to kneel, tied their hands with cords, and blindfolded them. They then tried to extract information about the Ukrainian military," adding, "They beat residents and looted personal belongings and home appliances."
