Gwangju City Catches 16 Sites Including Fine Dust Emission Businesses
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Metropolitan City conducted intensive inspections on 44 livelihood-infringing business sites, including large-scale fine dust emission sites that could cause direct or indirect damage to citizens' living environments, and identified 16 violating businesses.
According to Gwangju City on the 29th, this inspection was carried out from January to the end of April targeting large-scale air pollutant emission sites and construction sites generating scattered dust that threaten citizens' health.
The main inspection items included ▲environmental pollution acts in the air ▲installation and operation of unauthorized (unreported) emission facilities ▲improper operation of emission and prevention facilities ▲non-installation or operation of scattered dust suppression facilities, etc.
Major cases detected include the Seo-gu A Apartment Redevelopment Complex and Buk-gu B Apartment Redevelopment Complex projects, which illegally emitted pollutants into the air by violating scattered dust suppression measures, and the Gwangsan-gu C project, which was caught for illegally installing unreported air emission facilities.
Gwangju City notified the relevant autonomous districts to take administrative actions against the violating businesses, and for nine sites with serious violations, the city's Livelihood Judicial Police Department conducted its own investigation and sent a total of 16 people to the prosecution.
